Tuesday – June 30, 2009 – It's good to have options…
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

On a Tuesday in the middle of a very slow summer, what is there even to do?? Well, I’ve got a couple of options for you…unfortunately nothing new, I’ve written about all of these before. Tuesday night seems to be the unofficial trivia night for bars in the Lehigh Valley, so if testing your mind while pouring back some beers is your thing, then I’ve got plenty of options for you.

  • Starter’s Riverport – Quiz Whiz Trivia at Starter’s Riverport is a fast paced game that gets in a lot of questions in a relatively short amount of time. There are 5 rounds of 8 questions in about a two hour period. Questions cover all topics and get harder as the night progresses. Trivia starts at 8PM, get there early to enjoy $2 Lager drafts and $2 Tacos (Beef, chicken, or pork) before the game starts.
  • Roosevelt’s 21st – TNT with 99.9 The Hawk is a much more low key affair, one question every 5 minutes or so. If you’ve got a lot of time on your hands and are looking to get significantly more drunk in between each question, TNT at Roosevelt’s is probably what you are looking for. $2 Lager drafts, 32oz pitcher specials, and .35 cent wings keep things lively as the night goes on…and on…and on.
  • Tally Ho – Don’t get out of work in time for trivia at either of these places? Check out late night trivia at the Tally Ho. $4 domestic pitchers 10-12…Wing special and $2 well drinks 10-12. I believe the late night trivia round starts at midnight.
OMG! UPDATE! – Tuesday Night Trivia – Late Night Trivia at The Ho
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

I just received an email from the manager over at the Tally Ho, where Tuesday night is also trivia night.

He writes,

“I believe we’re the only venue that offers trivia after midnight. We play 2 $50 gift certificate rounds and a $25 consolation round late night. $4 domestic pitchers 10-12. Wing special and $2 well drinks 10-12.”

So if you are you looking for a late night trivia option, check out the Ho!

Tuesday – June 2, 2009 – Tres Amigos & Tuesday Night Trivia
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

Since I work pretty much all day and night on Wednesdays, Tuesday has become a good night for me to go out. This works out nicely because some of my favorite bars in the area have awesome specials on Tuesday nights. It also happens to be a good night for Trivia fans in the Lehigh Valley.

The gold standard for trivia night in the Lehigh Valley used to be TNT at Beerbelly’s in Bethlehem. As you probably know, Beerbelly’s is  no longer, but like the phoenix arising from the ashes, Roosevelt’s 21st has come and brought back TNT with it. I haven’t had a chance to check out TNT at Roosevelt’s yet, but I assume it hasn’t changed much. To help stimulate the mind, Roosevelt’s offers $2 Lager pints, $4 well/domestic 32oz. pitchers & $6 call/import pitchers(10-12PM), and $.35 wings from 7PM-1AM.

My recent favorite for Tuesday night fun has been Starter’s Riverport. Tonight they are offering $2 Lager drafts, $2 Pork, Chicken and Beef tacos, and Quiz Whiz trivia. May I recommend the Pork tacos? Delicious. Not as raunchy and ridiculous as TNT at Roosevelt’s, Quiz Whiz trivia is much more fast paced…cramming in about 40 questions in a two hour period. Trivia starts at 8PM, so get there early and get a seat.

Not looking to play trivia? Just plain dumb? Check out Tres Amigo’s Tuesday at Bethlehem BrewWorks or Tijuana Tuesday at Allentown BrewWorks.

Tuesday – May 12, 2009 – Trivia Night at Starter's Riverport
Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Ever since Beerbelly’s in Bethlehem closed my life has felt a little empty (not really, but work with me here). Was it the atmosphere? Their food? Drinks? No, none of these. It was their Tuesday Night Trivia. In it’s prime, TNT at Beerbelly’s drew so many people you had to show up at least an hour early to get a table. I haven’t gone to trivia night at a bar since they closed.

Tonight that’s all going to change. Me and my friends are planning on checking out Triva Night at Starter’s Riverport. I’ve never done trivia at Starter’s Riveport before so I’m not exactly sure how it works in such a large place. Anyone been there before? Triva starts at 8PM and, according the person who answered the phone at Starter’s, if it runs on schedule should end around 10PM. To go along with all the knowledge being dropped, they are offering $2 taco’s and $2 Yuengling Lager pints.

Wednesday – March 25, 2009
Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Has everyone sufficiently recovered from St Patrick’s Day yet? Good. I had an awesome time this past weekend. The Pub Crawl through West Allentown turned out to be a lot of fun. If you haven’t already checked em out, the pictures are posted below. I can’t wait to do that again. Would anyone else be interested in doing another pub crawl sometime?

Is it really only Tuesday? I don’t know about you, but for me this week already feels like it’s taking forever…Friday could not come soon enough. So let’s hurry this week along by going out tomorrow night. Wednesday night seems to be the official night to host either Karaoke Night or Open Mic Night at the local bars. There are lots of options to choose from. For a more complete list of what’s going on tomorrow night click here. Now, I don’t know how you feel about karaoke, but I love it. It doesn’t matter if you sing or not, it’s always a good time. What could be more entertaining than belting out “Sweet Caroline” with a room full of drunks?

Like I said, there are lots of places to karaoke tomorrow night. My recommendations would be either Tally Ho Tavern in Bethlehem or Mezza Luna on the East Side of Allentown. Some friends and I went to karaoke at Tally Ho a couple weeks back. DJ Scotty has a good list of songs and the crowd is loud, not afraid to sing, and only too happy to drink a lot of beer. It’s been a while since I’ve done karaoke at Mezza Luna, but tomorrow night they have $2 Guinness and Labatt Blue Drafts and $4 martini’s. Traditionally, Mezza Luna also gets a lot of cougars. So if cougars screeching along to “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” is your thing, I’d say Mezza Luna is a safe bet.

For those not interested in karaoke, check out Trivia Night at Starter’s Pub off of 378 in Bethlehem (not Starter’s Riverport). $2.00 cheesesteaks, $2.50 chicken steak, $3 Sam Adams Pints and trivia night? I’m actually thinking about hitting this up instead of karaoke now. Don’t tell DJ Scotty I said that though.
