Whitehall: The Burger Shack review

I heard people talking about this new Burger Shack that opened up in Whitehall last month (November 2010), and I finally got a chance to check it out. What a neat little place. It sits about 20 people, it is very clean, and has a wide selection of food – not just burgers. Keep in mind though, they specialize in locally purchased, fresh, made-to-order STUFFED burgers. The bread is definitely unique as well, not just an ordinary roll, but a hint of harder, chewier, and tastier bun. Another unique and tasty treat are the fries, be sure to try them. As I said, their menu is not just burgers, they also have hot dogs, chicken, pork, and turkey sandwiches as well as wraps, salads and desserts! Much to my surprise as well, all very reasonable priced – especially for the quality and freshness that the burgers have.

I can’t think of anywhere else that has stuffed burgers. I had “The Shack Burger” stuffed with cheese and topped with The Shack’s BBQ sauce. My colleague had “The Shabby” which is stuffed and topped with mushrooms and onions. Next time I go, I already know what I wanna try though – “The Bungalow” burger which is stuffed and topped with (ready for this?) cheddar cheese and bacon. Say what??? Now do I have your attention?

Next time you are near Whitehall, give The Burger Shack a try. It’s right off of Rt. 22 off the Fullerton Street exit. Make a left and go north and it’s just north of where 3rd Street turns into North 1st Avenue.

Note: We are also having the Lehigh Valley Tweetup there from 6-8pm on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Follow the LVTweetup on Twitter for all the details. We will be holding a contest that day too so stay tuned!
