Saturday – January 9, 2010 – Snuggie Bar Crawl??

According to sources at the Morning Call there will be a Snuggie themed bar crawl through Allentown’s West End tonight at 6PM. The MCall’s Twitter page says that the crawl will be starting tonight from Jack Callaghan’s Ale House on Tilghman St. I’ve been unable to find out any more details other than that and calls to Callaghan’s have gone unanswered. I’ll keep on it and will update this post if I’m able to find anything else out.

After doing some research, aka Googling, I’ve found out that these things are getting pretty popular in some of the major cities across the country. Which makes Allentown the latest in a long line of cities who have joined the Snuggie Cult. The picture on the right was taken at pub crawl in Chicago.

Is this pub crawl going to get me to take back all the negative things I’ve said about Snuggies? No, definitely not. The Snuggie is still one of the stupidest inventions of all time. But I will admit those infomercials were right. The Snuggie is not only useful for keeping your arms warm while reading books or using the remote control, but also perfect for holding beer bottles and cocktail glasses while pub crawling through the West End.
