Two new posts…
Hey everyone! I hope you have all had an awesome weekend. My weekend was great. Friday night I went to dinner at Starter’s Riveport and had some drinks afterward at Lehigh Pub. My burger at Starter’s was delicious, despite the soggy bun that it was served on. Drinks at the Pub were fun, but the place was practically a ghost town. I’m wondering if all the bad press they’ve been getting lately had something to do with that. Saturday afternoon I let myself get talked into going ice skating, not a bad time but my feet aren’t meant for rental skates. After that it was dinner at the Crossroads Hotel in Hellertown, where they are famous for their great pizza and awesome cheesesteaks. If you’ve never had a steak sandwich from Crossroads Hotel, do yourself a favor and go there right now. But enough about me…how was your weekend? Feel free to share in the comments section below.
Just wanted to make sure you all saw the two new posts that we have up on LV Scene. In the Night-life box is information about Naughty or Nice 4, an annual Christmas party thrown by DJ Cap Cee at Starter’s Riverport. Make sure you check that out. And, more excitingly, is a review of the Braveheart Highland Pub and Restaurant from LV Scene contributor Mary Sullivan Dunlap in our LV Eats section. I’ve never had the pleasure of eating dinner at Braveheart, but after reading her review I’m really wondering what I’m waiting for. What are your thoughts on Braveheart?

Joel: I visited Lehigh Pub a couple of times before “the incident,” both at lunchtime and happy hour, and it was always almost empty. So who knows?
Huh, well go figure. Just out of curiosity though, do you think that “the incident” would keep away potential customers?
I went to Beer Bellies a few times until the owner Darryl hit on one of my friends. It was REAL creepy, she’s barely 21 and he’s like 45-50. That was enough for me and my friends to steer clear of the Lehigh Pub, as he is the owner of that as well. The recent news coverage doesn’t surprise me he’s a jerk!
That totally makes sense! Beer Bellies was a dive and, despite just opening, Lehigh Pub is kinda divey. You’d think the guy would want to make improvements after taking over Bridgeworks…guess not.
I have had the same experience as Lehigh Valley Transplant – pre-incident the place was dead at lunch and lame at happy hour, except the drink prices and the bartender were great.
Braveheart is pretty good from what I remember. The first time I was there, they were out of my first two beer choices. Not good. The second time was much better. I like the ambience and scene there.
I wish I had something to gauge what it had been like pre-incident on a Friday night. Anyone been there on a Friday night before?
