Friday – July 10, 2009 – Let's try new things…

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit there are some definite gaps in my bar going experiences. By that I mean, there are bars that I probably should have been to, but for some reason haven’t. I’m sure that’s how it is for a lot of people…once you’ve found a handful of bars in the area that you like, don’t you tend to go to those more often than not?

So my plan for tonight is to check out two bars tonight that I have never been too before. Hmm, but what will they be? Well, that’s where you come in! Drop me a suggestion for a bar I may have never been too before in the comment section below. I live in Bethlehem and tend to frequent the Southside bars there a lot so anything that may be a little bit off the beaten path would be right up my alley.

But your homework isn’t done yet! I challenge you to check out a bar you’ve never been to before. If you need some help, leave a comment below and I’ll do my best to help you out!

So, what are you waiting for? Where should I go tonight?

Dude, have you been to Braveheart?

I’d suggest the following as I’m curious about them: Level 3 (Melt), that new place in the old Bridgeworks if it’s open yet, and the place in the bottom of the Allentown Brewworks (Silk, I think). I’ve also wondered about that place on southside called “Element” although it’s probably a college bar and I’m older than that. Also, is that “Firehouse” place next to the CVS on southside open yet?

I have been to the Braveheart…several times actually. It’s nice. Thanks for your input!

I’ve been to Silk and Level 3…the major difference between the two is Level 3 can draw a crowd. Both are pretty nice, swanky joints though.

Never been to Element, I’ve tried a couple of times but the people I was out with at the time have always shot down the suggestion.

The Firehouse isn’t open yet. A little bird has told me that we can expect an August opening…somewhere around Musikfest. I’m working on getting in early for a sneak peek. If I can get in I will definitely post some pics.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Lehigh Pub is the place that’s opened where Bridgeworks was. The signage is finally up so hopefully people will start going! The last couple of times I’ve been in there on a Friday night it’s been dead

I never really liked the Bridgeworks as a restaurant so hopefully the Lehigh Pub can distance themselves from that. I imagine things will start picking up there once Lehigh is back in session.
