Wednesday – July 8, 2009 – LPGA US Open

In case you haven’t heard, Saucon Valley Country Club is hosting the LPGA US Open. This is big. The US Open is the equivalent of the Superbowl in the NFL or whatever it is the WNBA has at the end of their season. It’s bringing thousands of people to our area and pointing the national spotlight on the Lehigh Valley.

In honor of the Open, which starts tomorrow, lets check out some local bars and restaurants tonight that are nearby the Club.

  • Copperhead GrillProbably the closest establishment to SVCC is the Coppherhead Grill on Rt. 378. They’ve got awesome food and a great beer selection…plus bring in your ticket stub from the Open for 10% off your bill.
  • Starter’s PubJust north of the Club on 378 is Starter’s Pub, a great sports bar that tends to get overlooked because of the newer, flashier Starter’s Riverport. But don’t worry about the Pub, it still has a lot of good stuff going for it. Tonight they are offering $2 steak sandwiches, $2.50 chicken steak sandwich, and $3 Sam Adams pints.
  • melt / Pacifico – Located less than a mile from the Club at the Promenade Shops, Pacifico and Melt, along with the other restaurants at the Promenades, offer great food, classy cocktails and a comfortable environment.
  • Looper’s Grille & Bar - No golf themed restaurant round-up would be complete without Looper’s! The absolute best martini’s in the Lehigh Valley perfectly complemented by awesome food and a friendly environment. May I recommend the “Steve Mar-tee-ni”?

Get on out there, enjoy some delicious food and drinks and keep an eye out for any players that might be stopping by after a long day of golf.
