June 16-20, 2009 – Southside Film Festival

Here are some things that I love…Bethlehem’s South side, movies, and supporting local events. Which is why the Southside Film Festival is such a cool event. We’re talking 5 days of great independent films, all in our own backyard. There is so much stuff going on with the SFF that I couldn’t even begin to try and cover it all. What I will do though is direct you to their website, www.southsidefilmfestival.com. From there you can find a fest schedule, information about all the films, and ticketing information.

Tonight there is a kickoff party for the fest at Home & Planet followed by a screening of the film Metropolis. The party starts at 6:30PM and is open to the public. Metropolis starts at 8:30PM and costs $10. Sometime this week, leave some extra time before you hit the bars and check out the Southside Film Fest.

  1. Metropolis and some other film events this week may also be very enjoyable while under the influence.

If you look at our schedule, I’d recommend the features “Stingray Sam” (musical-western-outer space romp) or “Nightlife” (mockumentary about vampires)- both hilariously weird, and “Short Blocks A” (9 shorts that will twist your mind) for people to see before (or after) partying.

    thank you!

    Thanks for the input!

You hear that people?? The Film Fest makes a great companion for a night of drinking!

  3. Plus – many hook-ups at the festival every year, many out-of-town guests. That’s all I’m going to say. It’s not “just” about art.

There were a few local bloggers at the party tonight… some undercover!

We skipped Metropolis (sorry…promise we’ll be back for The Town that Was) in favor of martinis at Looper’s.

Undercover agents! Excellent! The Town that Was is great – probably good to watch that one sober, pre-martinis.

But martinis are OK afterward, right??
